Community Pelvic Health Program

πŸ’œ 1 in 3 women experience pelvic floor dysfunction in their lifetime, yet 50% of those in need can’t afford treatment.
πŸ’œ Last year, the only free pelvic physio clinic in town was unable to treat half of its referrals due to limited capacity.
πŸ’œ Our goal is to raise $24,600 to serve 41 women who were unable to access care.

How It Works

Community Pelvic Health Program

  1. Have a registered health care provider (MD, RN, RM, PT, OT) determine Eligibility:
    • Low income
    • Disability
    • Demonstrating financial hardship or extraneous circumstances
    • Have at least 1 of the following lasting 3 months or longer:
      • Incontinence (urinary and/or fecal)
      • Pelvic Organ Prolapse
      • Dyspareunia/vulvodynia/vestibulodynia/vaginismus
      • Pelvic pain and/or endometriosis
      • Post-op gynecological surgery
      • Painful Bladder Syndrome/Interstitial Cystitis

2. Have a registered health care provider (MD, RN, RM, PT, OT) complete and submit an Initial Assessment Funding Request.

3. Be contacted by VPRS to confirm referral and need.

4. Be assigned an Initial Assessment with a Pelvic Health PT in the community.

5. Complete Initial Assessment with Pelvic Health PT. The clinic will bill your MSP and/or extended health insurance coverage (if applicable) and you will be responsible for paying $25/session out of pocket. VPRS will be invoiced the remaining balance by the clinic.

6. Have your Pelvic Health PT complete a Treatment Plan Funding Request for additional sessions (up to a maximum of 6/calendar year).

7. Carry out Treatment Plan with Pelvic Health PT. The clinic will bill your MSP and/or extended health insurance coverage (if applicable) and you will be responsible for paying the clinic $25/session out of pocket. VPRS will be invoiced the remaining balance by the clinic.
